Basketball Recap: Herrin's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Herrin has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 73-59 fall against the Pinckneyville Panthers on Tuesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Herrin still got an impressive performance from Kyrese Lukens, who went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points and three steals. The matchup was Lukens' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madox Billingsley, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points.

Herrin's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-3. As for Pinckneyville, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herrin will face off against Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinckneyville, they will challenge Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
