Recap: Galloway Scots vs. Walker Wolverines
The Galloway Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 68-57 to Walker. While losing is never fun, Galloway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Walker is ranked 143rd).
Several Scots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vaughn Murphy, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Grant Patrick, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anderson Carey, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carey has scored all season. Moustapha Diop was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Galloway's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Walker, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galloway will face off against Mount Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Vernon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 contests -- so hopefully Galloway likes a good challenge. As for Walker, they will head out on the road to square off against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
