Basketball Game Preview: Union Hill Bulldogs vs. Bloomburg Wildcats

Union Hill is on a three-game streak of home losses, Bloomburg a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Union Hill Bulldogs will welcome the Bloomburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Union Hill came up short against Avery and fell 40-32. While Union Hill didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Avery 13-6 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Union Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore EJ Mowery went 6 for 15 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 65.6% of Union Hill's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Payton Dunn, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Bloomburg also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Sulphur Bluff by a score of 47-35.

Bloomburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Union Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Everything went Union Hill's way against Bloomburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Union Hill made off with a 58-33 victory. Will Union Hill repeat their success, or does Bloomburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
