Baseball Game Preview: West Allis Hale Huskies vs. Brookfield East Spartans

West Allis Hale hasn't had much luck against Brookfield East recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Huskies will square off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. West Allis Hale has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Allis Hale is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They fell 13-8 to Lodi.

Luke Schaning made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Andrew Hoppe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Brookfield East had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Everything went their way against the Blackshirts as they made off with a 15-5 victory. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Brookfield East's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for West Allis Hale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

West Allis Hale suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Brookfield East when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
