Baseball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Triumphs

Juan Diego Catholic won the last time they faced Tooele and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Soaring Eagle came out on top against the Buffaloes by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Soaring Eagle.

Lange Livonius made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Juan Diego Catholic's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Tage McKinley and Castle Huggard did most of the damage at the plate: McKinley went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Huggard went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. McKinley has become a key player for Juan Diego Catholic: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

Juan Diego Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
