Basketball Game Preview: Corona/Vaughn Cardinals vs. Alamo Navajo Cougars

Corona/Vaughn is 0-5 against Alamo Navajo since January of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals take on the Alamo Navajo Cougars at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Corona/Vaughn turned things around against San Jon on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coyotes 53-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cardinals have posted since December 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Alamo Navajo was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Hondo Valley 73-35. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

Alamo Navajo is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Corona/Vaughn, their victory bumped their record up to 2-14.

Corona/Vaughn was taken down by Alamo Navajo 70-28 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Corona/Vaughn was down 50-14.
