Baseball Game Preview: Pike Red Devils vs. Ben Davis Giants

The Pike Red Devils will square off against the Ben Davis Giants at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Pike fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Southport on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lincoln Sigmund spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Ben Davis posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Covenant Christian 3-2.

Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Ben Davis, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
