5A District 15 recap October 8, 2013
Lely scaled the state rankings by moving to 364 from 390 this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 15. The Trojans were able to move up by falling to Naples 49-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Immokalee beat Golden Gate 67-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Immokalee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Louinelson Celian threw for 269 and 5 touchdowns and J.C. Jackson had 123 yards receiving. On the ground Taeler Porter contributed 104 yards. Jaymon Thomas helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 51 yards.
He went 11-17 with 0 interceptions.
Jackson was the best wideout in the league this week as Richard Dombroski's team beat the Titans. Jackson racked up 5 receptions for 123 yards. Thomas helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 51 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Taylor Anderson and Isaiah D'Haiti, Golden Gate has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Anderson is tops in the league in passing with 768 yards, while D'Haiti has rushed for 442 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Indians' Jackson, with 384 yards on 13 catches.
Immokalee took down Mike DiGrigoli's team 67-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Celian ran for 52 yards in the win.
