Volleyball Game Preview: Mira Costa Mustangs vs. Corona del Mar Sea Kings

Mira Costa is on a 25-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Corona del Mar is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will welcome the Sea Kings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Mira Costa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: San Clemente, who was ranked 11th at the time (Mira Costa was ranked first). The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tritons with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tritons: they've now won six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Corona del Mar beat Beckman 3-1 on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-17, 17-25, 25-17.

Mira Costa's win bumped their record up to 31-2. As for Corona del Mar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Mira Costa skirted past Corona del Mar 2-1 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Sea Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
