Basketball Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 70-44 to the Downtown Doral Dolphins. The Red Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-14.

Giancarlo Romero was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 21 points, 11 boards, and 11 steals for Downtown Doral. Downtown Doral is 5-1 when Romero posts three or more steals, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Castro, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Downtown Doral, their record now sits at 7-4.

Edison will take on North Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downtown Doral, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-40 win against Marathon on the 10th.
