Basketball Recap: Elyria Catholic Takes a Loss

Elyria Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a hard 63-49 fall against the Lake Catholic Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while the Cougars are ranked 306th).

Lake Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Webb out in front who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Peterlin, who posted 16 points.

Elyria Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Lake Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Elyria Catholic will take on Cuyahoga Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cuyahoga Heights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Elyria Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Catholic has already played their next game, a 68-65 win against University School on the 1st.
