Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

Jefferson County suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 69-45 to the East Laurens Falcons. The Warriors have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

East Laurens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kemario Mitchell led the charge by going 9 for 16 en route to 23 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Tylan Snead, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for East Laurens, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Jefferson County will head out on the road to challenge Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson County is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for East Laurens, they will welcome Dodge County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Dodge County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East Laurens surely won't give up without a fight.
