Basketball Game Preview: North Gaston Wildcats vs. South Point Red Raiders

North Gaston hasn't had much luck against South Point recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The North Gaston Wildcats will head out to face off against the South Point Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

North Gaston is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They lost 81-59 to Ashbrook. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Greenwave are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, South Point didn't have quite enough to beat Crest on Tuesday and fell 60-58. The loss continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost five in a row.

North Gaston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for South Point, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

North Gaston might still be hurting after the 70-48 defeat they got from South Point in their previous matchup back in January. Can North Gaston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
