Gray's Creek proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 18) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Union Pines Vikings 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

Grayson Hulen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Davis Reed, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eddie Foster, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Gray's Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Union Pines, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
