Basketball Preview: Wisner-Pilger Gators vs. Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars
The Wisner-Pilger Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars on Tuesday. Wisner-Pilger is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Wisner-Pilger ended up a good deal behind the Patriots and lost 60-43.
Meanwhile, Lyons-Decatur Northeast earned a 50-39 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The victory was just what Lyons-Decatur Northeast needed coming off of a 67-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Braden Hardin had an outrageously good game as he scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hegge, who scored nine points.
Wisner-Pilger's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Everything came up roses for Wisner-Pilger against the Cougars in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 57-19 win. With Wisner-Pilger ahead 41-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
