Baseball Recap: Green City Snags 18th Victory in Last 20 Games

Atlanta typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Green City proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Gophers, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jaden O'Haver made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thaydon Forest, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Tristin Harrison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Green City is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Atlanta, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-5.

As of now, neither Green City nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
