Football Recap: Julien Davis Key Part of Team Effort in Haymakers Win + How To Watch

Cozad's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Ogallala Indians with a 17-12 win. The Haymakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Cozad's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julien Davis, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD, and also threw for 114 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Davis a new career-high in passer rating (76.7). Bryson Snider helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

Ogallala's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolby Nowak, who rushed for 72 yards and one score. Nowak was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.

Cozad's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ogallala, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cozad will challenge Chase County on Friday. As for Ogallala, they will head out to take on Gering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
