Soccer Recap: Seabreeze Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Seabreeze can now relate to. They came up short against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas on Monday, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, the Sandcrabs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Owen Applegarth, who's now up to five this season.

Seabreeze's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for New Smyrna Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-1-6 record this season.

Seabreeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Smyrna Beach, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Cypress Creek on the 4th.
