Gaels junior quarterback Maika Eugenio throws six touchdowns while Greg Toler has three receiving and one passing TD.

No. 5 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored on all five first-half possessions and cruised to a 55-28 win over No. 12 Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) on Friday.

It was a statement bounce back win for the host Gaels, who battled their second straight Southern California and Trinity League opponent. Last week, No. 1 Mater Dei handed Gorman their first loss in 27 games, 31-15, in Southern California.

Friday was a different quarterback for the Gaels and a different story entirely.

Junior Maika Eugenio was under center for Brent Browner's club with Melvin Spicer on the sideline with an injury. The three-star threw four of his six touchdown passes in the first half.

Fellow Gorman three-star standout Greg Toler was in on four scores, two first-half receiving TDs with a touchdown pass and reception in the second half.

Bishop Gorman didn't punt until the start of the fourth quarter.

Trailing 7-0 after Nebraska commit T.J. Lateef put Orange Lutheran on the board with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Chris Flores Jr., Eugenio wasted no time in answering with a 46-yard catch-and-run to Toler.

Following a OLu three-and-out, Eugenio and Toler again hooked up to cap a six-play, 58-yard drive with a 14-7 lead. Eugenio found Derek Meadows just inside the second quarter for a 21-7 advantage.

A 75-yard Isaiah Nickels punt return set up the next Gorman score, a 2-yard plunge by Jonathan Coar. The Lancers cut the deficit to 14 with a reverse halfback pass from Flores to Tyler Hennessy.

Eugenio closed out the half with a 4-yard pass to Brandon Gaea that capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive that killed the last five minutes of the second quarter.

Toler capped the first Bishop Gorman score of the second half with a 23-yard pass to tight end Anthony Hickman.

Flores had a hand in three of the four Orange Lutheran scores, grabbing a second receiving touchdown midway through the fourth to cut the Gorman lead to 48-28.

Eugenio added a long TD strike to Toler midway through the fourth for the final margin.
