Basketball Game Preview: Manual Rams vs. Springfield Senators

The Manual Rams will square off against the Springfield Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Manual knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Springfield likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Manual strolled past Peoria Notre Dame with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Irish are ranked 346th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springfield hadn't beaten Sacred Heart-Griffin on the road since January 20, 2024 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Senators made off with a 60-59 win over the Cyclones. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Senators.

Manual better keep an eye on Elijah Wade. He was instrumental in Springfield's win, almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayango Jallah, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Springfield was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Manual's record now sits at 9-4. As for Springfield, their record is now 14-6.
