Baseball Recap: East Rowan Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

East Rowan was the 4-0 winner over Carson when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Harrison Ailshie put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Ailshie wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Blackwelder, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

East Rowan's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Carson, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Rowan will venture away from home to challenge Hickory Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Ragin' Bulls have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Carson, they will head out to face off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
