Baseball Recap: Ridley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ridley's game on Sunday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Medina Bees. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jake Mansfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. Ridley is 2-1 when Mansfield allows three or fewer earned runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Tim Calamita was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Ladislaw, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Ridley's win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Ridley will welcome Haverford at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fords' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Medina, they will take on Brentsville District at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bees' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
