Softball Recap: Bryan Extends Winning Streak to Six

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bryan had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Geauga Wolverines, sneaking past 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Golden Bears, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Thea Staten made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Staten wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was MacKenzie Blevins, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits Blevins has posted since back in April.

Bryan's record now sits at 17-4. As for West Geauga, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Bryan nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
