Softball Game Preview: Jupiter Warriors vs. Dwyer Panthers

The Jupiter Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Dwyer Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Jupiter put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Centennial with a sharp 19-2 victory. Considering the Warriors have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dwyer took on King's Academy on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with a 10-5 win over the Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Shea Towns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Sierra Cook was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Pratt, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Dwyer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King's Academy only posted a batting average of .222.

Jupiter's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Dwyer, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Jupiter got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Dwyer by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
