Softball Preview: Alhambra Bulldogs vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

The Alhambra Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alhambra is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Alhambra will head into Wednesday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Las Lomas on Wednesday. Alhambra's pitcher stepped up to hand Las Lomas a 10-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Alhambra needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Willa Adler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Adler has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Adler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Alhambra let Samantha Schuler and Hailey Powers loose on the outfield.
