Football Game Preview: Wellington Eagles vs. Berthoud Spartans + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Wellington will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Berthoud Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wellington is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wellington gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 27-15 win over Timnath.

Wellington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tre Trujillo, who rushed for 65 yards and one TD on only six carries. Those 65 rushing yards gave Trujillo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Gray, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Berthoud ended up a good deal behind Coronado on Thursday and lost 40-22.

Wellington will have to contain Jayce Newbill as he made an impact in Berthoud's last game. He picked up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Newbill's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 receiving yards.

Berthoud's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wellington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
