Softball Recap: Richford Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Richford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Williamstown Blue Devils on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since June 11, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Kayliese McCray, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Jazzy Cunningham was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Richford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Richford's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Williamstown, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Richford will be playing in front of their home fans against Winooski at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamstown, they are taking a road trip to take on Blue Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
