Soccer Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Lincoln

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Lincoln ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They beat the Jacksonville Golden Eagles by a goal, winning 1-0. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Jacksonville are ranked 170th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln's one-goal win came courtesy of Noah Colley, who's now up to 13 this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Lincoln, bringing their record up to 19-1-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for Jacksonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11-1.

Coincidentally, Lincoln and Jacksonville will both be playing Westbrook Christian the next time they take the pitch. The Golden Eagles will head out to face the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Bears will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
