Softball Game Preview: Avon Falcons vs. Lewis Mills Spartans

Avon hasn't had much luck against Lewis Mills recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Spartans at 3:45 p.m. Avon will be strutting in after a victory while Lewis Mills will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Avon made easy work of Platt and carried off a 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Lewis Mills was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Simsbury by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Lewis Mills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megyn Larose, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Avon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.
