Basketball Recap: Whitharral Panthers vs. Motley County Matadors
Whitharral had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past the Motley County Matadors to the tune of 65-26 on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Whitharral found their leader in sophomore Paige Smith, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Smith's 16th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Chavez, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points along with seven assists and five boards.
Several Matadors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailea Lawrence, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jada Richards, who earned seven points and eight boards.
The win (which was Whitharral's 13th in a row) raised their record to 24-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.5 points over those games. As for Motley County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-20 record this season.
Whitharral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-40 loss against Texline on the 18th. Motley County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
