Softball Recap: O'Brien RVT Condors vs. Notre Dame Catholic Lancers
O'Brien RVT had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. Their tough 14-4 defeat to the Notre Dame Catholic Lancers might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to O'Brien RVT of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For Notre Dame Catholic's part, Judy Tarczali made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Tarczali was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Notre Dame Catholic let Molly Garfield and Natalie Santiago loose on the outfield.
