Football Recap: Citrus Comes Up Short

After flying high against Seffner Christian on Monday, Citrus came back down to earth. The Hurricanes took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weeki Wachee Hornets on Tuesday. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Kendyl Hunnicutt threw for 34 yards on six of 12 attempts. Demi Williamson was her top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

Citrus' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Weeki Wachee, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Citrus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 26-0 loss against Springstead on the 9th. As for Weeki Wachee, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-0 win against Crystal River on the 9th.
