Volleyball Preview: Ellicott Thunderhawks vs. Lamar Thunder        
        
		
             Ellicott hasn't had much luck against Lamar recently, but that could start to change  on Tuesday. The Ellicott Thunderhawks will be staying on the road  to face off against the Lamar Thunder at 6:30  p.m.
 Ellicott lost  3-0 to Banning Lewis Academy on Thursday.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-9,  25-7.
 Meanwhile, Lamar put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Salida 3-0.
 Lamar was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17,  25-21.
  Tatym McTaggart and  Jazmin Martinez were among the main playmakers for Lamar as the former  had five  aces and the latter  had four  digs. The dominant performance gave  McTaggart a new career-high in  aces.
 Lamar  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 17  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least eight  aces in seven consecutive  matches.
 Ellicott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lamar, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Ellicott suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Lamar  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023. Can Ellicott avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
