Basketball Recap: Arvada West Beats Douglas County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Arvada West had won three straight games and Sara Walker did her part to make it four on Wednesday. The Arvada West Wildcats really took it to the Douglas County Huskies for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-16 win thanks in part to Walker, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Ferguson, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 17 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Arvada West's record is now 6-1. As for Douglas County, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Arvada West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-17 victory against Brighton on the 20th. As for Douglas County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pine Creek at 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Pine Creek will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Douglas County surely won't give up without a fight.
