Recap: Cuero Gobblers vs. Fox Tech Buffaloes
The Cuero Gobblers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Fox Tech Buffaloes on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 56-54. Cuero was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fox Tech apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fox Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Hernandez, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaryon Thompson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Cuero are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. As for Fox Tech, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cuero will take on La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fox Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Young Men's Leadership Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
