Basketball Recap: Huntington North's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntington North). Everything went their way against the Marion Giants on Saturday as they made off with a 76-53 win. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Huntington North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Titus Schultz, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Schultz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalton Husband, who went 5-for-9 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Huntington North was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory keeps Huntington North at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.0 points this season. As for Marion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington North will be home for the holidays to greet Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will be up against the Squires' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Marion, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
