Meanwhile, Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Burns, falling 7-0. One reason for the loss might be Bessemer City's aggressive play style: Makayla Ball and Daisy Munoz were both handed yellow cards.

Highland Tech pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five games. As for Bessemer City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
