Basketball Game Preview: McCormick Chiefs vs. C.A. Johnson Hornets

The McCormick Chiefs will square off against the C.A. Johnson Hornets on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

McCormick is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past North 83-61. Winning may never get old, but the Chiefs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led C.A. Johnson over Whitmire in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hornets blew the Wolverines out of the water with a 90-16 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 59-9.

McCormick's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for C.A. Johnson, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.

McCormick came up short against C.A. Johnson when the teams last played back in February of 2025, falling 63-53. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
