Recap: Reed Raiders vs. Reno Huskies
There's no place like home for the Reed Raiders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged Reno out 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Reed has posted since December 1, 2023.
Tj Coulter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Coulter is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Dominic Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Reno lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Harvey Smerdon. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with two steals. Smerdon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodee Lyman, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Reed is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Reno, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reed will take on Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Reno, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Damonte Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Damonte Ranch will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
