Softball Recap: Richford Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Richford entered their tilt with Lamoille on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Lancers. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Kyrielle Deuso was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three triples, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 5-for-5. Those triples were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MiKayla Chagnon, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Chagnon is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jazzy Cunningham, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Richford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Richford pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richford will host Bellows Free Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamoille, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
