Basketball Game Preview: Independent Athletic Ministries Ravens vs. Washburn Pirates

The Independent Athletic Ministries Ravens will square off against the Washburn Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Independent Athletic Ministries is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2024 on Friday. They lost 68-48 to Varsity Opponent.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Trey Miller, who posted 14 points. Brady Barron was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Washburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cosby.

Like Washburn, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Dillon Mullins led the charge by earning 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Bailey, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Washburn was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Washburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Independent Athletic Ministries, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Independent Athletic Ministries beat Washburn 60-52 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Independent Athletic Ministries repeat their success, or does Washburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
