Newton came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the South Titans by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Railroaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ana Lawrence paced Newton's offense, picking up eight kills. Lawrence got some help from Pozzi Krehbiel and her 13 assists. Krehbiel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Daisy Bradshaw, each putting up three.

Newton's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for South, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Newton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Wichita HomeSchool on the 30th. As for South, they have also already played their next match, a 0-0 tie against West on the 30th.
