Basketball Game Preview: Boles Hornets vs. Yantis Owls

The Boles Hornets will face off against the Yantis Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boles is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season.

Boles will bounce into Friday's match after beating North Hopkins, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Boles secured a 50-44 W over North Hopkins on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Boles' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion Mcfadden, who posted eight points along with 11 boards and eight assists. That's the most rebounds Mcfadden has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah King, who put up 11 points and six boards.

Boles smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Yantis duked it out withComo-Pickton on Tuesday. Yantis took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Como-Pickton.

Boles now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Yantis, they dropped their record down to 19-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Boles suffered a grim 52-29 defeat to Yantis in their previous meeting back in November of 2017. Can Boles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
