Baseball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

If Fairfield was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Tarrant last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fairfield Tigers fell 14-9 to the Carver Birmingham Rams on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alhaj Butler led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two). Antwon Landrum also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carver Birmingham, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Fairfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-6 loss against Wenonah on the 3rd. As for Carver Birmingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-0 win against Huffman on the 3rd.
