Basketball Recap: Bartram Trail Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Bartram Trail had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Mandarin Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-26 victory. The Bears pushed the score to 59-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Alyssa Donohue was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 73% from the field on her way to 37 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. Her big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Campos, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Mandarin's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ni'Angel Harris, who posted seven points.

Coming up, Bartram Trail will host Fletcher at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mandarin, they will head out to square off against Beachside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
