Volleyball Preview: Van Wert Cougars vs. Lexington Minutemen
After both having extra time off, the Van Wert Cougars and the Lexington Minutemen will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Van Wert is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Van Wert lost 3-0 to Elida on Tuesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10, 25-17.
Maria Parrish put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 18 digs.
Meanwhile, Lexington made easy work of Madison Comprehensive on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-11.
Madeline Cramer was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 17 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Wolf, who had six digs and 15 assists.
Lexington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison Comprehensive only served three.
Van Wert's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Lexington, their record now sits at 15-6.
