Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Skates Past Lighthouse Prep Academy with Ease

Heritage Academy had lost five games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-2 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 70-38 victory over the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles. The Warrior have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Nick Kespohl was his usual excellent self, putting up 27 points and seven boards. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. Kylen Larson was another key player, earning 13 points.

As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Heritage Academy: they've now lost three in a row.

Lighthouse Prep Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonas Boes, who posted 13 points, and Noah Fowler, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 10 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Heritage Academy will face off against Liberty Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Rolla HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
