Football Game Preview: Concordia Fighting Orioles vs. Orrick Bearcats

The Concordia Fighting Orioles will take on the Orrick Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Concordia came up short against Lincoln and fell 34-21. The Fighting Orioles have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Although Concordia took the loss, they still got scores from Dane Wilckens, Lane Hass, and Nephi Hon.

Even if they lost, Concordia's defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Wilckens, Maddix Inman, Jared Bermudez, and Brayden Frerking picked up two apiece. With that strong performance, Frerking is now averaging an impressive 5.8 total tackles per game.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Orrick was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 38-12 to Norborne/Hardin-Central.

Concordia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Orrick, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Concordia against Orrick when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 55-6 win. Do the Fighting Orioles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
