Softball Recap: P.K. Yonge Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact P.K. Yonge can now relate to. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Keystone Heights Indians on Tuesday. The Blue Wave lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in March of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 25-1 score last time.

P.K. Yonge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Mansfield, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

P.K. Yonge has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Keystone Heights, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.

P.K. Yonge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Keystone Heights, they will face off against Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
