Baseball Recap: Davidson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Williamson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davidson). Everything went their way against the Williamson Lions on Monday as Davidson made off with a 15-8 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Micah Spivey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brian Davis, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brayden Bazor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Davidson moved to 7-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Williamson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davidson will challenge Mary G. Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson is facing Mary G. Montgomery at the right time seeing as Mary G. Montgomery is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Williamson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Vigor at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
